All Saints Day

Today is All Saints Day, a time when we remember our loved ones who have died. As the Gospel Message from Sundays and Seasons reminds us, “We don’t call them saints because they were perfect but because they were loved by us and by God. We acknowledge that all people, being simultaneously sinners and saints, lead complex lives full of both bad and good. We rest in the sure promise that at the end of their lives, God has welcomed our loved ones to their eternal home.

On Sunday during our worship service, there will be time to communally remember those who have received their sainthood and now reside with God. Please send the names of your loved ones to Pastor Christina before worship on Sunday by emailing them to pastor@firsttrinitychicago.com, or by commenting on this post. You can also bring pictures or small momentos to be placed on the altar for the duration of the All Saints worship service.
