Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost
God’s Work Our Hands Sunday
This Sunday First Lutheran Church of the Trinity will join our friends at St Luke’s Logan Square on Sunday, September 8 for worship. During worship we will hear from a staff member at Erie House, who will speak about their organization and work. Then we will participate in a volunteer training workshop. The workshop will have two parts:
A ‘Know Your Rights’ training that will be helpful for folks regardless of documentation status (i.e. if you’re a U.S. citizen it will still be useful because you can learn strategies for bystanders)
A training for Erie’s Citizenship Workshops that happen on Saturday mornings. After attending this training, folks will be qualified to volunteer at Erie in the future for 30-minute blocks where volunteers help folks with immigration paperwork and stuff like that.
There will also be a separate workshop for kids around immigration justice
Those wishing to carpool should arrive at First Trinity at 8:45. We’ll meet at First Trinity and will leave promptly at 8:45.
There will not be a worship service at First Trinity on this day
St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Logan Square is located at 2020 N California Ave
