Week of Sunday, October 15
19th Sunday after Pentecost
In Isaiah we are given a vision of the great feast to come, when God will wipe away death forever. In Jesus’ parable about a great banquet, those invited do not come, so the invitation is extended to others. In our liturgy God spreads a table before us. Even amid anxiety and hardship we rejoice in the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. With great joy we feast at the table of the Lord, and we go forth to share the wonderful invitation with others hungering and thirsting for the abundant life of God.

Prayers of Thanksgiving
We had a really eventful week!
It started last week with a fantastic storytelling event. Then, Dan shared his story Sunday morning in worship. Sunday was also our annual pet blessing, a First Trinity favorite! On Monday the confirmation youth went to Fright Fest at Six Flags. Then this Thursday, our God’s Closet volunteers loaded up old inventory to help support our clothing pantry and community meals. Then they brought sock baskets to three local businesses (Thanks Bernice’s, Jackalope, and Bridgeport Coffee!) for the Socktober Sock Drive! This is in addition to Bible Study, God’s Closet, Confirmation, Godly Play, Worship, and all the amazing things that happen at First Trinity every week! Thanks be to God!
