Seventh Sunday in Eastermay 28

In these days between Ascension and Pentecost, we gather with the disciples in the upper room, waiting for the Spirit to transform the church around the world. In today’s gospel Jesus prays for his followers and for their mission in his name. Amid religious, social, and economic divisions, we seek the unity that Jesus had with his Father. Made one in baptism, we go forth to live our faith in the world, eager for the unity that God intends for the whole human family.

Redevelopment Process

Our Call to Mission

We are going to officially kick off our redevelopment process on Pentecost Sunday.  Join us for worship at 10:30. Immediately after worship we will gather on the front steps for a group photo. Then we’ll enjoy a potluck cookout and celebration of our new Call to Mission!

Who wants an awesome First Trinity Call to Mission T-shirt!? You don’t have to reply, we ordered enough for everyone! Shirts will be available on Sunday.  We suggest a donation of $10 but pay what you can. These are totally appropriate to wear for the group photo on Pentecost Sunday.

All Are Welcome + You Are Invited

Last week we were blessed with a gift from our friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Palos.  They asked that the money be used to provide “support, care, and ministry for the children of God.”

March to Springfield
The marchers are going strong and want you to join them in Springfield on March 30.  Click here for details!
We’re thinking about doing another after-worship outing to see the White Sox this summer. If you are interested (meaning you would be likely to buy a ticket and go) please click that “going” button on Facebook or let Rene in the office know. If you would like to go but the date does not work, let her know that too.

Before the end of May we’ll choose a date and take reservations/payments for the tickets  Tickets will likely be $10 each, and will be in the upper decks.  This is always a fun day of fellowship! I hope you can come!
