Week of Sunday, May 21
Sixth Sunday in Easter
Jesus does not leave his followers orphaned. Through the Holy Spirit Jesus comes to abide with his disciples of every generation. As Pentecost draws near, we are reminded that the risen Christ dwells in us as the Spirit of truth. We receive this Spirit in baptism and pray that in our gathering around the Lord’s table the Spirit will transform us to be the body of the risen Christ in the world.

Our Call to Mission
We are going to officially kick off our redevelopment process on Pentecost Sunday. Join us for worship at 10:30. Immediately after worship we will gather on the front steps for a group photo. Then we’ll enjoy a potluck cookout and celebration of our new Call to Mission!
Who wants an awesome First Trinity Call to Mission T-shirt!? You don’t have to reply, we ordered enough for everyone! Shirts will be available on or before Pentecost Sunday (we’ll let you know as soon as they arrive). We suggest a donation of $10 but pay what you can. These are totally appropriate to wear for the group photo on Pentecost Sunday.
Color of the day is Red

March to Springfield
Samantha and the other Marchers stayed over at First Trinity on Monday night. They all seemed well rested and ready to march! Thank you to everyone in the First Trinity community for providing a space for our advocates and protestors to take a little rest before continuing onto the capital.
If you haven’t checked out our Instagram lately, it’s pretty neat. Look for trinitywebsite. This week we added several photos of members and friends from the March to Springfield Kickoff Rally. For more on the March to Springfield use #MarchToSpringfield on any social media!
We’re thinking about doing another after-worship outing to see the White Sox this summer. If you are interested (meaning you would be likely to buy a ticket and go) please click that “going” button on Facebook or let Rene in the office know. If you would like to go but the date does not work, let her know that too.
Before the end of May we’ll choose a date and take reservations/payments for the tickets Tickets will likely be $10 each, and will be in the upper decks. This is always a fun day of fellowship! I hope you can come!
