Week of Sunday, May 7
Fourth Sunday in Easter
This Sunday is sometimes called “Good Shepherd Sunday.” Jesus is called the “gate” of the sheep in today’s gospel. The risen Christ opens the way to abundant life. He anoints our heads with oil and guides us beside the still waters of our baptism. Each Sunday he spreads a feast before us in the midst of the world’s violence and war. We go forth to be signs of the resurrection and extend God’s tender care to all creation.
Readings and Psalm

Stewardship Announcements:
This week we lift up the stewardship of our siblings in Christ at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville. Thanks to a generous gift we’ll be able to complete the restrooms in the community center basement in the near future, allowing us to create a more welcoming environment for all of our members and guests. We also thank Andrew Mack for seeking out this gift.
FTKids Announcements:
This Friday (tonight) Samantha is taking the confirmation group to Tzedek Chicago for Shabbat. The kids will attend Shabbat service and then meet with Rabbi Rosen to ask questions and learn more about the Jewish Faith.
